Job Purpose

Organize and coordinate programs by providing strategic guidance to teams and project managers in ways that promote the company’s culture. Oversee the progress of operations and ensure that the program(s) or customer to deliver the desirable outcome to the organization. May supervise a small group of employees engaged in a number of closely related operations.

Key Job Elements

• Organize, structure and manage project teams to meet the needs of the project; Monitor and Develop technical staff to provide High-Level & World-class support;

• Assure resources, timing, scope and deliverables are clearly defined and managed;

• Controls project costs and manage the project budget; Represent Progress Rail through effective use of assigned staff to resolve technical, warranty and field issues on EMD Products;

• Lead efforts with the organization to ensure on time delivery of quality information, material, workmanship and deliverables of the contract are being met to project specifications;

• Issue various project reports detailing project performance;

• Effect a timely contract completion with customer satisfaction; Resolve problems & concerns in a professional manner within the guidelines of PR & CAT Mission and Vision statements at locations stated;

• Identify and manage project risks and scope change; Ensure all proper data entry requirements by those assigned are made in LTS & SAP Systems in both a Timely and Accurate fashion;

• Travel as required to perform duties; international travel may be necessary;

• Accept special assignments as needed.

Education / Training

Required:

• BS in Business or Engineering.

Preferred:

• MBA or Masters in Engineering;

• PMP certified.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

• Minimum 8-10 years of Project Management experience;

• Minimum 10 years of experience on capital intensive, highly engineering, long life cycle product line;

• Experience in successfully managing people, projects and/or programs;

• High level of analytical ability to assess, identify and facilitate appropriate alternative courses of action;

• Highly developed written and verbal communication;

• Excellent conflict resolution skills;

• Ability to travel.

Preferred:

• Product development experience. Product experience with AC technology locomotives.
