The Tooling Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing tooling support to the production line by acting as a point of contact for production floor associates, answering questions regarding tooling and fixture use and set-up, maintaining inventory of existing tooling and fixtures, assisting with validation of new tools, and providing assistance as needed to the tool crib. This position will work closely with the tooling engineer to identify, develop, and procure any new tooling and fixtures needed to improve safety and/or production processes.
Key Job Elements
•Ensure that safety, efficiency, productivity and quality are the prime focus.
•Support production floor with tooling needs such us, replacement parts, location of fixture of tooling.
•Coordinate repairs and order replacement parts.
•Assist with the setup and validation of existing and new tools and fixtures.
•Provide production and maintenance with the appropriate tooling drawing and set up drawing for installation and setup.
•Work closely with the tooling engineer to provide. feedback and opportunities for improvement.
•Work closely with the tooling engineer to resolve tooling issues and implement corrections in the production floor.
•Work closely with the tool crib to submit requisitions for new tools and follow up on the status.
•Create and maintain an inventory of replacement parts for fixtures and tools.
•Maintain tooling and fixtures inventory and location.
•Help to construct a team work environment and a positive attitude with other teams including Safety, Quality, Welding Engineering, Production and Materials.
Education / Training
Associates degree in Engineering or 2+ years related work experience.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
•Organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
•2+ years previous experience in heavy manufacturing.
•Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse workforce.
•High dependability with a strong work ethic and commitment to deadlines.
•Experience with CAD programs a plus.
•Experience with SAP, LN, or other ERP systems a plus.
