• Machine steel parts and rail according to specifications;
• Read and interpret blueprints;
• Use digital calipers to insure accuracy;
• Comply with all safety procedures;
• Operate overhead cranes.
Key Job Elements
There are currently two openings on this machine on both 2nd shift and our weekend shift. 2nd shift runs from 4:15pm to 2:45am Monday - Thursday and offers a $0.75 shift differential. The weekend day shift runs from 5am to 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The weekend day shift also pays a 4 hour premium If all 3 shifts are completed, (36 hours worked = 40 hours paid)
The training on the machine will run for 3-4 weeks on 1st shift and the candidate will then be moved to their designated shift.
Education / Training
HS Diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 6 months machine operator experience preferred;
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision;
• Must be able to read and write legibly and complete production reports with accuracy;
• Must be able to read and use tape measure;
• Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail using measuring devices;
• Must be quality oriented and a team player;
• Must have complete understanding of safe work practices.
